Is my child guaranteed playing time?

While we strive to develop all of our athletes, we are a competitive sports organization and equal playing time is not guaranteed for all athletes.

Are all fees required up front?

The family membership fee of $50 is required to join PHA, but we provide payment plans and fundraising opportunities to help with sports fees and registration costs. Feel free to reach out to us if you have specific questions.

Are registration fees nonrefundable?

Yes, our fees are nonrefundable.

Do your coaches have to pass background checks?

Palmetto Homeschool Athletics is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for its participant’s physical, emotional, and social development and to ensure that it promotes an environment free from abuse and misconduct.  As part of this commitment Palmetto Homeschool Athletics will be following the recommendations and guidelines of the Abuse Prevention Systems. All coaches must pass a background screening and  complete the Abuse Prevention System Player Safety Training.

Are there any volunteer requirements?

PHA is a volunteer-based program.  Each family is expected to volunteer a few times during the season to support the program.  

Examples of volunteer positions include:

• Working the admissions table
• Home game set up and clean up
• Helping with the Palmetto Basketball Tournament
• Line-judging for volleyball
• Keeping the game scorebook
• Running the scoreboard or game clock

Parents will sign up for a service area and time on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign-ups will be posted at a designated time. Further information regarding volunteering will be given at the parent meeting when the season begins.
